David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

David Walliams

Prolific children's author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the company commented: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an inquiry regarding claims about conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.

The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies globally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, encompassing a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
