Renowned Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
American actor Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic TV shows including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles recently following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per news outlets.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a announcement.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
An Extensive TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous popular shows, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised countless students throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.
Pat Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
