Armed assailants have taken the life of an instructor and seized a minimum of 25 learners in an raid targeting a girls' secondary school in Nigeria's northwestern region, according to police.
The gang of attackers breached the public educational institution for female students in Kebbi State's Maga area at roughly 4 in the morning local time on the start of the week, authorities reported.
The armed individuals "confronted officers on duty in a gun duel" before climbing over the boundary wall and seizing the students from their dormitory, an official report indicated.
