The Streaming Platform is Developing a Far Cry TV Show from the Minds of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The latest action-packed instalment that audiences dived into was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it has a reputation for celebrating violence and mayhem with equal glee, all while weaving captivating, socially charged stories. Little surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry seasonal program pulled in two creators whose creations have represented all of those elements.

About the Series

Adapted from Ubisoft's popular video game property, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The show will also mirror the video games' style by featuring a fresh location and cast of characters in subsequent series.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as lead producers on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had magnificent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is original, gripping, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our associates at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this beloved property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also star in the show, but at the time of writing, we are unsure of what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just greenlit for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new overall deal with the producer.

“Being able to collaborate together with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, entrusting us with one of the most renowned video-game universes ever created. And along the way, my FX team constantly supports me with their ongoing confidence and assistance.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology show. Every title is a take of a theme, the same way every run of Fargo is a version on a premise,” explained Hawley. “To develop a epic action show that can evolve from year to year, while always examining the nature of society through this intricate and turbulent perspective, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to work with Rob and introduce our shared bold, visionary style to the television.”

A schedule for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
