Three Athletes In Contention for Young Athlete of the Year Award

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.
The trio have been honoured for their exceptional achievements over the last year.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The finalists were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.
This year's winner will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.
The ceremony will be aired from seven in the evening GMT.
Agyemang's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Just three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.
She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the knockout stage games.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the top young European talent.
She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.
"Being nominated for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
The Darts Prodigy

Littler kicked off the year in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
His success continued - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.
"Being nominated for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and surged to prominence with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin finished second in the run-scoring charts and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more girls to get into cricket."
